The Auburn women’s basketball team released a non-conference schedule that is headlined by match ups against six NCAA tournament teams, including road trips to Savannah and New Orleans for tournament events.
The Tigers will host five games at Auburn Arena throughout November and December, featuring doubleheaders with the Auburn men’s team on November 11 and December 18
In the five home contests, the Tigers will face off against Troy (Nov. 11), Indiana (Nov. 27), Savannah State (Dec. 11), Virginia Tech (Dec. 18) and Jacksonville (Dec. 28). Three of these teams participated in postseason action with Troy and Indiana competing in the NCAA Tournament in 2016, and Virginia Tech in the WNIT.
During non-conference play, The Tigers will participate in two tournament-style events: a three game Thanksgiving competition, The Savannah Invitational, with Ball State, Marist and West Virginia (Nov. 22-24) and a two game competition at Tulane that also features Drake and Eastern Washington (Dec. 21-22). The Tigers will also go on the road to face North Carolina A&T (Nov.17), East Carolina (Nov. 20), Kansas State in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge (Dec. 2) and Louisiana Tech (Dec. 14).
The road schedule includes six postseason teams with North Carolina A&T, West Virginia, Kansas State and Jacksonville having made the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Ball State, Drake and Tulane were WNIT participants.
The Tigers are coming off an impressive year in which they finished 20-13 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
