As final exams come to a close today, we're sure students are looking for a way to relax, cut loose and finally get into the Christmas spirit. Auburn has loads of activities starting tonight and continuing through the next weeks for your group of pals.
There are activities all around to get us in the Christmas spirit and relax from a challenging semester.
The first place that comes to mind when thinking about holiday traditions, is attending Callaway Garden’s “Fantasy in Lights.” Located in Pine Mountain, Georgia, the light and sound show has been a staple for many to see from all around the South. Attendees can also shop in the Christmas Village at Callaway Gardens, and join a holiday dinner show featuring “How a Grinch Stole Christmas.”
Starting in December, Opelika, Alabama will be put on one of their popular events called “Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour.” This event has been featured in Southern Living and Home and Gardens as well. Visitors can take the self-directed driving tour or use the wagon rides available to see the homes that are beautifully decorated for the season. This event begins at the Opelika Historic District and is popular amongst all ages.
Finally, there is the Auburn Christmas Parade tonight at 5 p.m. This is a special way to wrap up finals week and get ready for the holiday season. After watching the parade, you can head to the Hotel at Auburn University and witness the unveiling of their Christmas Gingerbread Village.
This season take advantage of the events the town has to offer and rewind from the stress of finals.
