Auburn midfielder Bri Folds earns back-to-back National Team of the Week honors

As the lone player recognized from the Southeastern Conference, Folds is also the only player to be named to the team twice this season.

Bri Folds made the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week for a second-straight week, the publication announced Tuesday morning. Folds led Auburn with six points on four assists and a game-winning goal last week.

As the lone player recognized from the Southeastern Conference, Folds is also the only player to be named to the team twice this season. Folds also leads Auburn in points and assists with 11 and five, respectively, and is tied for the lead in goals with three.

In addition, Folds leads the SEC in assists and is ranked fourth in the nation in scoring.

Through Auburn’s first 4-0-0 start since 2006, the Tigers have led in the country in points and assists with 53 and 21, respectively, and are second in the nation in goals with 16.

Auburn’s 16 goals through four games are the team’s most since 2000 and are the team’s second-most all-time.

“Bri had another great offensive performance last weekend with four assists and the game-winner on Sunday,” head coach Karen Hoppa said. “We are excited to see her recognized by Top Drawer for the second straight week.”

Auburn will continue the season against Cal State Fullerton on Friday before traveling to nearby Long Beach State on Sunday.
