Meet the candidates for SGA vice president

Q: Why do you care about Auburn University as a whole?

A: I primarily care about Auburn so passionately because this is a place of extreme opportunity. Many people from different walks of life converge onto this campus and take advantage of so many tools. The production of Auburn University alumni in our world is so extensive, and it will only continue to grow.

Q: What are the top priorities in your platform?

A: Ultimately, I wish to integrate more liaisons from underrepresented organizations on campus into the legislative process within Senate. By doing so, their input and opinion can be expressed even more. Also, I want to do as much work and research with administration to focus on more need-based scholarships for students that do not have as many opportunities.

Q: What experiences have had the biggest impact on your Auburn experience?

1. Being involved as much as possible has completely shaped my time at this University. By spending my time in organizations such as the Beat Bama Food Drive and the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, I have encountered many people who only want the best for themselves, and that is what I am passionate about.

Q: What specifically do you think SGA has done in the past year that you would look to build on or reform moving forward?

A: As I spoke on before, my predecessor Schyler Burney has done a fantastic job with implementing non-voting members into the Student Senate. Once I can get more groups represented in our meetings, I hope to strategically assign a liaison to a committee within Senate. This will help advance our campus and keep these organizations knowledgeable about what is happening on campus on a weekly basis.
