Video shows car crashing just yards from President Trump's motorcade

A video shows a car crashing into a median just yards from President Donald Trump's motorcade as he traveled along Interstate 85 during a tour of tornado damage in Lee County Friday.

The interstate's guardrail kept the vehicle from veering into Trump's motorcade.

The video, contributed by Tom Lowrey, shows Trump's approaching motorcade. Police and secret service escorts are seen going by before squealing tires are heard and the SUV is seen crashing into the median.

Lowrey said the accident happened along I85 between the Bent Creek Road and Gateway Drive exits.

The motorcade did not stop, and it isn't clear if federal law enforcement investigated the crash.

Trump's visit continued without incident.

He met Friday with volunteers, first responders, survivors and the families of victims who died in the storm. At least 23 people were killed when the EF4 tornado hit the Beauregard community on Sunday.

A number of other communities in southern Lee County were also affected.
