Auburn gymnastics had three members awarded with Southeastern Conference postseason recognition, the league announced Tuesday.

These members include junior Drew Watson and sophomore Derrian Gobourne, who were added to the All-SEC team, as well as Cassie Stevens who was added to the SEC All-Freshman team.

Since the 2020 SEC Gymnastics Championship was canceled this year, the All-SEC awards were based on different criteria. The All-SEC team was made up of the gymnasts who had the top two final National Qualifying Scores per each event and were in the all-around competition for the projected first and second sessions.

The All-Freshman team followed the same criteria but it was limited to freshman athletes.

Watson was named to the team for her vault performances this season as she finished with a 9.92 NQS, which tied her for seventh nationally. Watson’s season-best was a 9.975 at Arkansas back in February. This was also her personal career-best, and tied the Auburn program record for vault.

Watson led the Tigers all season while scoring a 9.9 or above in seven out of their 10 meets. This is Watson’s second SEC honor since she joined the Tigers in 2018, and follows after she made the All-America first team back in March.

Gobourne earned a spot on the All-SEC team for her performances on bars for the second consecutive year. Gobourne finished with an NQS of 9.905, which tied her for 14th nationally. She also was the first Auburn gymnast to get an honor for bars in the All-American league.

She was able to pull three 9.925s on bars and set that career-best versus Alabama, LSU and Texas Women’s. Gobourne continually finished with a 9.9 or better in half of Auburn’s meets this past season.

Stevens received her placement based on her vault performance. She totaled a 9.855 NQS in the event and earned a score of 9.85 or higher five times. Stevens became the ninth newcomer since 2014 to earn a spot on the team.

The Tigers have had a freshman selected every year since 2014.
