According to Phillip Marshall of 247Sports, Auburn will be without All-SEC linebacker K.J. Britt for an unknown amount of time as Britt undergoes surgery this Friday.
According to Marshall, Britt will undergo surgery on Friday to repair torn ligaments in his right thumb. Britt played through injury last Saturday in a 26-7 loss at Georgia.
After the game, Britt was examined, and it was determined that he would need surgery to replace the torn ligaments in his right thumb, per Marshall.
Britt is not the only starting linebacker that Auburn will be without this season as senior Chandler Wooten opted out earlier this fall.
Since becoming a starter in 2019, Britt has been a force on the Auburn defense. Britt racked up 69 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 2019 en route to earning All-SEC honors. Through two games this season, Britt had 23 tackles on the year.
