Auburn’s fall season ended on Tuesday with a 4-3 loss to No. 1 seed Arkansas in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals in Orange Beach, Alabama.
The list of preseason accolades for Auburn's Unique Thompson continue to grow as Thompson was named to the preseason All-SEC First-Team on Tuesday. This honor comes after Thompson was named to the Katrina McClain Award watch list last week.
On Monday, No. 15 Auburn lost on the road 2-0 to No. 3 Texas A&M at Ellis Field in College Station, Texas. The Tigers end the regular season with a 3-3-2 record.
On Friday, No. 15 Auburn fell to No. 7 Arkansas, 2-1 on the road for its first loss of the season.
“For our team, we’re disappointed with the result,” said head coach Karen Hoppa. “We need to learn from this game. We’ve got a young group. We’re going to get better and make some adjustments and look to improve from this game before we play again.”
On Wednesday, the SEC announced Auburn will be taking its show on the road to take on the Baylor Bears for this year's SEC/Big 12 challenge. The game is slated for January 30, 2021.
On Monday, the SEC announced that Auburn's Week 5 matchup at Ole Miss will take place at 11 a.m. CST on SEC Network.
According to Phillip Marshall of 247Sports, Auburn will be without All-SEC linebacker K.J. Britt for an unknown amount of time as Britt undergoes surgery this Friday.
After recording eight saves in her Auburn debut, goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska was named the SEC Freshman of the Week.
Head coach Gus Malzahn was named to the Bobby Dodd Trophy preseason watch list on Thursday. Malzahn is one of 13 coaches named to the preseason watch list, which only included teams playing in the fall.
