Auburn gymnastics joins the rest of the SEC in the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association preseason poll, coming in at No. 14. All eight SEC teams are ranked in the Top 20, with two SEC teams ranked in the Top 5.

“It is exciting to see that our competitors believe we will be more competitive this year after a crazy offseason and the departure of a large senior class,” head coach Jeff Graba said in a release. “I feel very good about our team this year and we are very much looking forward to finally competing again after such an abrupt end to the 2020 season.”

The Tigers finished second in the SEC in 2019, with an 8-3 overall record and 5-2 conference record. This season, the schedule will be limited to an all-SEC list of opponents, where Auburn will face a Top 25 team each week.

Florida tops the preseason poll at No. 1, with LSU at No. 3, Alabama at No. 6, Georgia at No. 10, Kentucky at No. 12, Arkansas at No. 15 and Missouri at No. 16.

Auburn’s first test will be against defending SEC Champion and the No.1-ranked Florida Gators on Jan. 8, 2021. The meet is set to begin at 7 p.m. CST inside Auburn Arena, with attendance information to be announced at a later date.
