Unique Thompson is continuing to add accolades to her resume this season. The senior forward was named to the Wooden Award preseason watch list on Tuesday.
The John R. Wooden Award is the premier award for college basketball. The finalists are selected by a panel of college basketball experts representing all 50 states. A total of 30 players were named to the watch list.
Last month, Thompson was named preseason All-SEC First Team and was named to the Katrina McClain Award watch list.
This season, Thompson is once again the leading scorer and rebounder through three games. The senior is averaging 17.7 points and 10 rebounds a game.
At this pace, this could be her third consecutive season averaging a double-double. Thompson has recorded 44 career double-doubles and has the most in program history.
