On Tuesday, Derrian Gobourne was named SEC Specialist of the Week following her performance against No. 2 LSU last Friday. She’s the first Auburn gymnast to earn a Gymnast of the Week honor this season.
Against LSU, the junior from Sarasota, Florida, scored a career-high 9.975 on the floor, winning the event title. She scored a 9.90 on vault, tying three LSU gymnasts for first in the event. Her 9.90 on the bars helped Auburn score a 49.450 in the event.
Auburn may have come up short against LSU, but its team score of 197.075 was the first time the Tigers had broken 197 since 2019.
