Callouts from Cater: the 2025 SGA election winners

There were 32,756 eligible student voters for this year’s Student Government Association election, with 9,971 students casting their vote to make their voices heard. This is 30.44% voter turnout.

Major candidates

The 2025 SGA president is Owen Beaverstock, who received 5,303 votes — a 62.06% majority. 

The 2025 SGA vice president is Buckley Nettles, who received 4,607 votes — a 59.79% majority. 

The 2025 SGA treasurer is Hailey Bergenthal, who ran unopposed and received 7,109 votes. 

The 2025 Miss Auburn is Riley Parman, who won the election in the ranked choice run-off. 

None of the Miss Auburn candidates received 50% of the votes, so the ranked choice procedures were followed. In the first round, Connell led with 2,693 votes, which was a 29.55% majority. Parman had 2,472 first choice rankings, which was 27.12% of the votes. The candidate disqualified from the first round was Sophie Marino, whose 1,134 votes were redistributed to the other four candidates. 

The next candidate disqualified was Smith T, who had 1,541 votes to redistribute. The second round left Connell in the lead with 3,080 votes and a 39.45% majority. Parman followed with 2,944, which is 37.70% — still no candidate obtaining enough to be elected. 

In the third round of instant run-offs, Anderson had 1,784 votes to redistribute. This gave Connell 340 more votes, which totaled 3,420 and 49.43%. However, Parman was given 555 votes, propelling her to 3,499 total votes and a 50.57% majority. Parman won by 79 votes.

Final lecture professor

The 2025 Final Lecture Professor Award goes to Eric Negangard, who received 752 votes. 

Minor candidates 

The five senators at-large seats are Lilly Pool, who received 2,992 votes, Hope Wisdom, who received 2,888 votes, Madelyn Massey, who received 2,858 votes, Camilla Loard, who received 2,814 votes and Winchester Bolton, who received 2,773 votes. 

The College of Agriculture president is Jonathan Parten, who received 240 votes. The College of Agriculture vice president is Lee Murray, who received 234 votes. The College of Agriculture senator is Hayden Wolfe, who received 152 votes. 

The College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) president is Bay Matthews, who received 364 votes. The CADC vice president position is vacant, and SGA requests that any interested individuals contact president elect Owen Beaverstock. The two CADC senators are Charlotte Blencowe, who received 301 votes and Hannah Roberts, who received 232 votes.

The Raymond J. Harbert College of Business president is Shea Hinckley, who received 968 votes. The College of Business vice president is Luke Calamari, who received 1008 votes. The six College of Business senators are Copeland Bowman, who received 1,076 votes, Wheeler Smith, who received 1,076 votes, Hannah Congo, who received 1,012 votes, Colin Hale, who received 999 votes and Kate Perdue, who received 998 votes. 

The College of Education president and vice president positions are vacant, and SGA requests that any interested individuals contact president elect Owen Beaverstock. The two College of Education senators are Mimi Dorough, who received 450 votes and Will Ward, who received 393 votes. 

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering president is Lily Price, who received 575 votes. The College of Engineering vice president is Mary Frances Springfield, who received 929 votes. The six College of Engineering senators are Hope Holladay, who received 626 votes, Trey Pritchett, who received 602 votes, Parker Forde, who received votes, Tony Jasso, who received 574 votes, Charlie Messier, who received 572 votes and Giles Jones, who received 540 votes. 

The College of Forestry and Wild Life president is Madison Dillard, who received 84 votes. The College of Forestry and Wild Life vice president is William Latimer, who received 82 votes. The College of Forestry and Wild Life senator is Luke Troutman, who received 86 votes. 

The graduate school president, vice president and senator seats are still vacant. SGA requests that any interested individuals contact president elect Owen Beaverstock. 

The College of Human Sciences president is Brennan Young, who received 568 votes. The College of Human Sciences vice president is Emily Ann Jones, who received 574 votes. The College of Human Sciences senator is Dorothy Verner, who also received 568 votes. 

The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) president is Caroline Fahy, who received 622 votes. The CLA vice president is Bailey Irvin, who received 1104 votes. The four CLA senators are Cate Herring, who received 784 votes, Rylee Watson, who received 733 votes, Harper Alspach, who received 693 votes and Collin Scott, who received 610 votes. 

The College of Nursing president is Keira Serrano, who received 449 votes. The College of Nursing vice president is Grace Oney, who received 444 votes. The College of Nursing senator is Kimy Campos, who received 271 votes. 

The Harrison College of Pharmacy (HCOP) president is Carsyn Hopkins, who received 92 votes. The HCOP vice president is Kat Smith, who received 80 votes. The HCOP senator is Courtney Robertson, who received 147 votes. 

The College of Science and Mathematics (COSAM) president is Alex Towery, who received 576 votes. The COSAM vice president is David Haskins, who received 769 votes. The two COSAM senators are Jada Conner, who received 566 votes and Sawyer Stanley, who received 564 votes. 

The College of Veterinary Medicine president is Sydney Rookes, who received 22 votes. The College of Veterinary Medicine vice president is currently open, and SGA requests any interested individuals to contact president elect Owen Beaverstock. The College of Veterinary Medicine senator is McKenzie Steury, who also received 22 votes.
