Orange and blue are painted across the stadium. There is an electric thrill in the atmosphere as students flood the bleachers, ready to ignite Neville Arena. Chants and cheers echo, the crowd is ready to not just watch a game, but be a part of it. Fans are anticipating a wild game filled with quick breakaways and buzzer-beaters that will have everyone on the edge of their seats. This is Auburn Basketball. This is The Jungle.
With all of these factors in mind, “The Jungle” was named Plainsman’s Choice best student organization in 2025.
The Jungle is the official student section for all of Auburn basketball, including both the men’s and women’s teams. Their purpose is to create a captivating atmosphere to provide the best possible home court advantage for the teams. The constant cheering and energy throughout every game makes it hard for opponents to play within Neville Arena.
With fans packed side-by-side within The Jungle, the atmosphere is always thriving and buzzing. Opponents that have played within Neville Arena have even mentioned how loud fans are, which makes it difficult to call plays and hear teammates on the court.
With the 2024-2025 season, the Auburn men’s basketball team was ranked No. 1 in the SEC during the regular season, which was an achievement for all Tiger fans. Eager to watch the best team in the conference, The Jungle was filled to the brim with students during every game. Admission to the games are first come, first serve, with some students camping out for days before the doors open just to catch a glimpse of the team in action. The Jungle helps to organize this queuing system that allows students to enter the arena based on when they arrived in line.
It is easy to say that The Jungle played a crucial role in leading the men’s basketball team to compete in March Madness as a No. 1 seed team. Without The Jungle, the games would not be the same, and fans would not have brought the excitement to Auburn basketball.
What to expect at an Auburn basketball game includes not only the game itself, but many more features that make it unique. Aubie the Tiger is always making an appearance, whether that is on the court performing with the Tiger Paws or standing beside fans in the stands. There are also many opportunities to grab some free Auburn merchandise, so do not forget to look up as t-shirts float from the ceiling through mini parachutes.
The Jungle has a passion for Auburn athletics and devotes a lot of their time and energy into making sure that students have the best experience at every game. Without the dedicated staff and their leadership, Auburn basketball games would not be the same.
