Opelika Police respond to fatal stabbing, investigation ongoing

In the morning of Sept. 16, 2025, Opelika Police responded to a suspicious incident that left one woman fatally stabbed in Opelika, Alabama.

According to an official media release, the Opelika police officers responded to the crime report at approximately 10:52 a.m. and discovered a 34-year-old female suffering from a stab wound in the 1000 Block of Samford Court. Officers immediately rendered aid, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Opelika Police, upon further investigation, determined that this incident was isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. All individuals involved have been identified and interviewed by the police.

The media release also explains that, in order to comply with applicable laws, no more details can be released at this time. This discretion is "due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of a juvenile."
