The Auburn Tigers will return to Neville Arena riding the momentum of two dominant road wins as they prepare to host Texas on Wednesday, January 28, at 6 p.m. CST. The matchup marks Texas’s first trip to Auburn since Feb. 11, 1911, a historic date that also stands as the Longhorns’ first game played east of the Mississippi River.

Auburn enters the game fresh off a statement win in Gainesville, defeating No. 16 Florida 76–67 on Saturday to earn their first victory in Gator country in 30 years. Before that, the Tigers took home another win on the road against Ole Miss, giving them a winning streak of three games and solidifying their confidence heading back home.

“That’s an unbelievable win for our ballclub,” Auburn coach Steven Pearl said on their win in Gainesville. “We’ve been here for 11 years. That might be the best road win that we’ve ever had as a program. If you look back at Auburn basketball history, that might be one of the best road wins we’ve ever had. I thought our guys, for about 32 minutes, executed the gameplan to perfection.”

Leading the charge was junior forward Keyshawn Hall, who was named SEC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game across Auburn’s two victories. On the season, Hall is averaging 20.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest and remains the only player in the SEC ranked in the top 10 in both categories. He currently sits third in the league in scoring and sixth in rebounding, continuing to be a standout for Auburn on both ends of the floor.

As a team, the Tigers are averaging 85.0 points per game while outscoring opponents by 7.5 points per contest. Auburn has also posted a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio, a reflection of its efficiency during the early season.

Texas arrives in Auburn with momentum of its own and a veteran presence on the sideline. Head coach Sean Miller enters Wednesday’s matchup with a career on-court record of 499–204 (.710) across 21 seasons as a collegiate head coach and will be seeking his 500th career victory. Under Miller, the Longhorns have shown steady improvement and toughness within SEC play.

Junior guard and forward Dailyn Swain has emerged as one of Texas’ most consistent performers. Over his last two games, Swain has averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 assists while playing 37.2 minutes per contest. He has converted 68.8 percent (22-of-32) from the field during that stretch, including a 40.0 percent mark from three-point range, while shooting 87.5 percent from the free-throw line. In conference play, Swain leads the Longhorns with 20.4 points per game and adds 7.4 rebounds in 32.5 minutes per contest.

Graduate guard Tramon Mark also poses a significant threat after scoring a season-high 23 points to lead Texas to an 87–67 victory over No. 21/22 Georgia on Saturday at Moody Center.

Wednesday’s matchup between Auburn and Texas tips off at 6 p.m. CST inside Neville Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN2 as the Tigers look to extend their momentum and defend their home court against a tough Longhorns team.
