On Nov. 19, onlookers walking past the Melton Student Center were greeted not just by the Aubie statue but also by a festive display of volunteer-run tables, treats and a balloon arch, all organized by Auburn’s Student Government Association (SGA) to celebrate Creed Day. Every year, Auburn University SGA hosts Creed Day, a celebration that highlights the origins of the Auburn Creed and exemplifies its representative values.

As an English major at Auburn University, I can’t help but feel disturbed by the way that Alabama has treated the study of English. On Oct. 27, Auburn faculty members received an email from the University stating that syllabi will now be vetted for any discussion of “divisive topics,” as defined by Alabama Act 2024-34 (SB 129). While faculty are now set scrambling to revise syllabi around the bill’s vaguely categorical terms, students will be the ones who bear its real effects.

Auburn women’s basketball is off to its strongest start in nearly a decade, moving to 5-0 after grinding out a 69-65 win over Georgia State on Monday night at Neville Arena. It was not always pretty, and it certainly was not easy, but the Tigers once again found ways to close out a tight game.

When it comes to the college student experience, it is safe to say that food is a huge part of it. Auburn University has a variety of options, from dining halls like The Edge to on-campus chain restaurants like Chick-fil-A and Panda Express. However, despite the positives, students and staff alike feel like Auburn's dining options have room for improvement.

The Recreation and Wellness Center, commonly known as "the Rec," provides many services for Auburn students, faculty and staff in both mental and physical health interventions. The facility holds group fitness classes, organizes intramural and club sport leagues, hosts Olympic and powerlifting competitions, arranges outdoor adventure experiences, offers one-on-one personal training and conducts other events throughout the year to get the student body involved.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, excitement is ramping up for Auburn’s unique Christmas traditions that celebrate community and spread joy through various events. Among the most popular is Letters to Santa, a program that allows children from Auburn and surrounding areas to send letters to Santa Claus and receive a letter in return. For several years, the city of Auburn has sponsored this program for children every holiday season.

On Aug. 19, 2025, the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts opened its exhibit "Women Artists in Ascendance" to the public. The exhibit showcases artwork from notable women artists of the 20th century whose contributions have largely gone overlooked. The exhibit is one of four on display, exploring the idea of American art and who gets to define what that means.

In "Predator: Badlands," writer-director Dan Trachtenberg does away with the traditional cat-and-mouse structure of a Predator film, focusing instead on a buddy-cop adventure film with no human characters. While certainly an ambitious venture, this attempt at humanizing the Predator takes away from the aura of mystery that made the monster so iconic in the first place. For the first time in the history of the series, our titular Predator is given a name — Dex — and daddy issues.

hosted an exclusive first look on the evening of Nov. 13. Auburn’s newest rooftop experience offers a menu inspired by Italian cuisine mixed with Southern charm. Although opening officially on Nov. 19, Olivine invited a select few to an exclusive fine dining experience.

After the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) was suspended earlier in November, Beat Bama Food Drive (BBFD) and the Food Bank of East Alabama faced an influx of people in need. Although the Alabama Department of Human Resources plans to fully reinstate SNAP benefits after the resolution of the government shutdown, food insecurity in Auburn still continues, driving more community members to food banks and pantries for help.
