On Aug. 16 following a week of formal recruitment, a record-breaking 2,153 new members ran home to one of Auburn University Panhellenic Council's 18 sorority chapters. Out of the 2,352 women who registered for recruitment, 92% of the potential new members (PNMs) received a bid.

From Toomer’s Corner to eagle flights to game day chants, Auburn adores its traditions, and as August grows near, the campus waits in anticipation for one of its most beloved: Panhellenic recruitment. In only two short weeks, over 2,000 girls will step onto campus to weather long walks in Auburn heat, loud parties and polished conversations all for the promise of sisterhood and lifelong community. Recruitment can be wonderful, but beyond all the fanfare and perfectly coordinated outfits, this process can be equally stressful.

Booksellers welcomed book lovers and wine connoisseurs alike to its July Page Pairings, a monthly, ticketed event where guests can enjoy a selection of six different wines that each correspond to a selected novel. Immigration raids occurred at local Auburn-Opelika Mexican restaurants on Tuesday, July 15, following an on-going, joint investigation by federal, state and local agencies. Authorities executed search warrants in relation to a federal indictment of fraud and abuse of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for 52-year-old Cesar Campos-Reyes, who had been residing in Lee County.

On July 8, the Auburn Family joined Eli Manning, retired NFL Quarterback and two-time Super Bowl MVP, on his show Eli's Places in the rolling of Toomer’s Corner with over 3,000 rolls of toilet paper, officially setting a new Guinness World Record. Manning is the host for Eli’s Places, an ESPN+ series that celebrates college football by highlighting college football history and traditions. Auburn’s iconic tradition of rolling Toomer’s Corner after a sports victory is the next college tradition to be featured.

On Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m., Auburn and Opelika residents joined to participate in the "No Kings” protest. Part of a nationwide initiative organized by the 50501 Movement, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states and one movement, protesters gathered to show their defiance against President Trump’s policies and reject what they call “authoritarianism.” The event was scheduled to align with the Army’s 250th anniversary celebration, Flag Day and the President Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

The Auburn University Regional Airport received a bomb threat on June 11, 2025, at 1:32 p.m. After determining the threat was not credible, the Auburn Police Department administratively closed the case, and the Auburn University Department of Campus Safety and Security chose to not issue an AU Alert.
