"Locus," an exhibition by John Douglas Powers, took seat in Biggin Hall from Dec. 12 to Jan. 26 and closed with a lecture from the artist at 5 p.m. The crowd consisted of primarily art students, but listeners of all ages lent their attention to Powers.

The top of the manila folder read “Please Return to Engineering Student Services." These were the boldface printed words I read over and over again in my head as I stared down at my academic file. As many times as I had visited Engineering Student Services on the first floor of Shelby, this time my folder was not to be returned to the office I once frequented.

Last year was nothing short of a disaster. There were many failures, losses and undesirable surprises around each corner. Despite everything that happened in 2016, it was a great year for music, which is what I used to cope and it made the year seem a little less awful.

Madison Brooks* is a business major from a north-eastern
state. Her real Instagram feed is flooded with photos of her sorority’s socials, Auburn
football and adverts for a popular Auburn organization. However, the last photo on Brooks’ fake Instagram was of her double-fisting two drinks while simultaneously drinking out
of both straws captioned, “Here’s a pic of me living the dream. Drinking away
my GPA.”
