On Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m., Auburn and Opelika residents joined to participate in the "No Kings” protest. Part of a nationwide initiative organized by the 50501 Movement, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states and one movement, protesters gathered to show their defiance against President Trump’s policies and reject what they call “authoritarianism.” The event was scheduled to align with the Army’s 250th anniversary celebration, Flag Day and the President Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

The Auburn University Regional Airport received a bomb threat on June 11, 2025, at 1:32 p.m. After determining the threat was not credible, the Auburn Police Department administratively closed the case, and the Auburn University Department of Campus Safety and Security chose to not issue an AU Alert.

Auburn University is facing a lawsuit filed by current employee Henry Moreman. Moreman is suing on the claim that the University has discriminated him based on his race. The suit is being filed under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed discrimination on the basis of race, “color,” national origin and sex.

On May 18, 2025, Kappa Alpha Psi, Theta Delta chapter celebrated 50 years on Auburn’s campus. The celebration was weekend long, starting on May 15 and ending on their charter day, May 18. Along with this celebration, Mayor Ron Anders declared May 18, 2025 to be “Kappa Alpha Psi Day.”
