This Saturday will mark the 129th edition of “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”, as Auburn (2-3, 0-2) will travel to Athens to take on No. 5 Georgia (3-1, 1-1) in Auburn’s first road game this season. Georgia leads the series all-time 64-56-8, with the first matchup between the Tigers and Bulldogs being played in 1892 at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. This game will serve as the SEC Game of the Week as well as Georgia’s annual homecoming game.

The thirty-first annual Beat Bama Food Drive kicked off on Friday, Oct. 4, and will run for several weeks, ending on Nov. 21. BBFD raises food and money for the Food Bank of East Alabama in a friendly competition against the University of Alabama’s Beat Auburn Beat Hunger (BABH) drive, which supports the West Alabama Food Bank.

Auburn and Georgia have met 128 times dating back to 1892 in what is called “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”. Throughout their countless meetings the two historic programs have had many memorable matchups that affected the history of the two programs along with the rest of college football. Although Georgia has had their way recently, the Bulldogs and the Tigers have been evenly matched throughout the years.

Books, word documents and folders overflowing with papers surround the person, and they are trying to complete their tasks in a timely manner.

Over 46 million American citizens reside in rural communities according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) 2023 economic report, with over 50% of America’s counties accounting for rural, non-metropolitan areas. As centers of American agriculture and industry, given the increased population following the COVID pandemic, coupled with recent environmental impacts such as hurricane Helene, it is perhaps more important now than ever to consider how government policies affect these communities and work to protect them.

Seeing white tents go up on Thursdays and Fridays before an Auburn football home game is one of the most heart-warming things for an Auburn fan to experience. However, putting these tents everywhere is eliminating spaces for students to tailgate, as well as contributing to a disruption of their daily lives when tailgating starts early.

The purpose of a college course is to assess a student's competence in its subject matter. Professors have the freedom to choose how they go about doing this, and they often take great pains — at least in my experience — to promote their students’ success. They may provide weekly homework assignments to ensure no one falls behind, distribute study guides to reduce workload or even give pop quizzes so that students are obligated to review classroom material consistently.
