OPINION: Life after graduation
Graduation is approaching and for many people this is a wondrous occasion. Many students have a pretty clear idea on what they are going to do after school and already have work lined up.

Ever since I can remember, the Auburn/Alabama rivalry has been a big deal. When I was as young as five, my school would have team dress up days where each kid showed off their spirit for the team they cheered for- most every kid wore the orange and blue or crimson and white combos.
Females are constantly advised not to drink too much or to go places alone, particularly after dark, because “someone might take advantage of you.” If a girl wears what could be considered revealing clothing, then automatically, “she was asking for it.” Even if a woman is wearing revealing clothing or walking alone at night, it is disturbing that in today’s times, women are often advised to take precautions that males aren’t, because if they don’t then some people believe it’s partially their fault if they become a victim of sexual assault.
Some of us are on multiple wait lists, while some of us are forced to take electives or classes we aren’t interested in. The question that constantly runs through my mind regarding this process, is why is there so much uncertainty with our schedules and with our graduation dates? More importantly, why is this the case when so many of us work hard and pay thousands of dollars a year to earn a degree within a certain timeframe?

For as long as I can remember there have been unwritten rules we must follow in order to not appear different. In America, any differences from the norm are seen as weakness, not strength. And unfortunately, the ultimate judgment people get for being unique actually comes from our peers.
We understand the necessity of balancing the state budget and realize that it is not easy to make cuts. However, closing DMV offices, regardless of which county they were located in, should have never been an option. There are too many other areas in which budget cuts could’ve been made that would’ve produced a better result financially.
More Auburn students than we realize experience mental health-related issues such as chronic anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and eating disorders, to name a few.
When you get a pet, you are taking responsibility for another living being. You need to be in a place where you can, and want to make the pet a top priority.
Although we are a student media group that is supported by the University, we are not here to act as it's PR. We are here to learn and become credible journalists who do their job and tell the truth. We are not here to entertain you. We are here to inform you of the news. Auburn fans should take pride in the fact that there are many groups and organizations on campus that help students reach their fullest potential in their study of interest by providing opportunities to practice and learn. They should support those students, because they are just as much of a representation of the University as any athlete.
Juggling school with extracurriculars, a social life, sleep and always-necessary relaxation time is hard, everybody knows that. Unfortunately, people tend to stretch themselves too far, forsaking something they need or want to do so they can cram as many clubs, opportunities and resume builders into their day as possible.
This year, Parking Services is reaching out to and helping the community even more by teaming up with Beat Bama Food Drive.
Auburn University suicide rates are triple what they are expected to be with a student population of approximately 25,000.
We think most people would agree the word “library” generally refers to a place containing a collection of books where people go to borrow such books, or study, due to it’s lack of noise.
Based on the advertisements my friends and I were inundated with, our new scoreboard was financed by Regions, and Built Ford Tough out of Yellawood with some steel from Hyundai.
No matter what look you’re going for, khaki shorts are a good foundation to build an outfit around.
Members of the Auburn Family wear orange and blue every day. But on Saturdays in the fall, these orange-and-blue-clad family members flock to campus for game days, sporting a variety of different looks.
Most people go to the library to study with friends, or because the 4th floor keeps them more focused than they would be elsewhere. I use the library for studying the majority of the time, but I also use RBD for its archives and extensive book collection.
I really didn’t know much about the University, except it had a big football program, and I heard it couldn’t make up its mind about a mascot.
How many times has someone said to you, “Stay in college as long as possible?” It is a phrase I heard over and over again my first four years in college.
