Tigers Win agains SC

The Auburn Tigers baseball team closed off their series against the No. 14 South Carolina Gamecocks Sunday at Plainsman Park with a refreshing 10-6 victory after two consecutive losses to start the series.Auburn's win ended South Carolina's 13-game winning streak, making Auburn's record 17-7 overall and 4-2 against SEC competition, and leaving the Gamecocks with an overall record of 19-5 and 5-1 in the SEC.


Coach Barbee Press Conference

For the first time, basketball fans were in the stands at Auburn Arena.They cheered as Auburn's new men's basketball head coach Tony Barbeewalked across the new floor of the new arena with Athletic Director JayJacobs.Jacobs introduced Barbee to the media and fans and presented Barbee witha blue Auburn jersey.


Optimistic first spring practice for Tigers

As the dew settled on a clear-skied, 70 degree morning, the Auburn Tigers took to the practice field for the first time in a new decade Wednesday. The early practices are a shift from last year's regimen, which saw much of spring training at night. Head coach Gene Chizik said changes in the trends of the athletes' schedules prompted the change. "We're kind of getting in that mode where classes are more in the afternoon," Chizik said. "When you get them in the morning they're fresh, they're very alert and they're ready to go. I think that for everybody, players and coaches, it's really been a benefit."

Gray Duo Leads Women's Tennis

Auburn Women's Tennis is led by a dynamic duo, a husband and wife team of tennis teachers. Assistant coach Christine Gray has teamed with her husband, head coach Tim Gray, for the last two years to lead the women of Auburn tennis.

Auburn Announced New Basketball Coach

The Auburn Athletic Department has announced Tony Barbee will be the next head coach of the Auburn Men's Basketball team. "We are thrilled to welcome Tony Barbee into the Auburn Family," said Athletics Director Jay Jacobs in a press release Wednesday night. Barbee, 38, has been the head men's basketball coach at the University of Texas-El Paso for the past four years, compiling an 82-52 record and taking the Miners from 10th in Conference USA in 2006 to first in 2010. "Coach Barbee has a vision of competing for championships at Auburn, and the passion to get us there," Jacobs said in the press release. "He is a phenomenal coach, an outstanding recruiter and a fierce competitor." Barbee will be officially introduced as head coach Thursday in a press conference in the new Auburn Arena.

Auburn Athletics Confirms Lebo's Firing

After serving for six years as Auburn Basketball's head coach, Jeff Lebohas officially been fired."I want to thank Coach Lebo for all that he has done for AuburnUniversity over the past six years," said Auburn Athletic Director JayJacobs in a statement. "Coach Lebo has worked hard and has alwaysrepresented Auburn with character, class and integrity."Unconfirmed reports of the decision began to surface early Fridayafternoon that Lebo, 96-93 overall at Auburn, was to be replaced.
