Vice president of Student Affairs writes letter to community about Auburn Airwaves

Bobby Woodard, vice president of Student Affairs and associate provost, wrote a letter to the Auburn community published Friday, April 24, in the Opelika-Auburn News in response to Auburn residents' complaints about the Auburn Airwaves concert.

"The musical acts were selected by the student leaders of the University Program Council (UPC)," Woodard said in the letter. "This experience is one of the ways that students have the opportunity to make decisions and take responsibility for those decisions as part of their leadership development. However, more due diligence, caution and judgement should have been exercised."

Woodard also said people assumed the musical acts were a part of the Corner Block Party and appropriate for the whole family.

"Therefore, we understand why many were disappointed in the choices," Woodard said in the letter.
