The video board in Jordan-Hare Stadium was turned on for testing Friday morning, July 31.
The board is working in full capacity, just in time for the start of fall practice Tuesday, Aug. 4.
A possible concern for this season is the distraction the new board will cause for the players, since it will be hard to avoid.
With the board's testing, the players will be able to experience practice with the lights, and soon with the sound on.
The problem was addressed at SEC Media Days earlier this month and coach Gus Malzahn shared his thoughts.
"I know our players are going to enjoy it," Malzahn said. "Me, as a coach, there will be times I'll look at the scoreboard either on a replay or during a certain play, especially if the ball's in the middle. It will take me a little getting used to, but I'm really looking forward to having it."
