UPDATE: Meg McGuffin receives fourth runner-up in the 2016 Miss America Competition

Auburn graduate and Miss Alabama 2015, Meg McGuffin, placed fourth runner-up in the 2016 Miss America Competition.

McGuffin advanced to the top 12 after competing in the fitness and talent portion in swimsuit and advanced to the talent competition in the top 10 after evening wear.

She then advanced to the top 7 where she answered an on-stage question on why Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, was leading in the polls.

"I think Donald Trump is an entertainer, and I think he says what's on a lot of people's minds," McGuffin said. "But I think the Republican Party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he's taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie, who can absolutely do the job of President of the United States. And if I were a Republican, I'd be absolutely terrified of that."

McGuffin was chosen for the top 15 at the beginning of the competition.

Betty Cantrell, Miss Georgia, was crowned the winner of Miss America 2016.

The competition aired on ABC Sunday night.
