Citizen Cope, Tim and Eric, acts to appear on the Plains

April is turning out to be the month of big acts coming to the Plains.

Citizen Cope will be opening for Ben Harper and the Relentless Seven at the upcoming spring concert, said Chappel McCollister, director of major entertainment for UPC.

Citizen Cope, also known as Clarance Greenwood, is described as having multi-genre roots and has performed at numerous festivals, such as the Rothbury Festival and Bonnaroo.

McCollister announced Monday Citizen Cope's act will start at approximately 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the spring concert will be available for distribution to current students beginning Monday, April 20. Tickets may be obtained at UPC tables to the left of the Student Center entrance facing the Haley Center.

Seth Hill, director of the Speakers and Comedians Committee for UPC, also announced Monday Tim and Eric, of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, will perform a free comedy act for students Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m in the Student Act Auditorium.

An opening act for Tim and Eric is still being finalized. Tickets for this event will be available for distribution April 15 on the Haley Concourse. Seating is set for 2,200 people on a first-come-first-serve basis.

"We've been working since August to get (Tim and Eric) here," Hill said. "We really wanted to bring someone bigger and well-known."
