Just4Him Men's Haircut Lounge is a hair salon on Opelika Road where guys can watch the game, relax and get a haircut at the same time.
When customers walk in for a cut, no appointment necessary, they are offered a drink: a water, a soda or a cold beer.
"Customers get a shampoo and a head massage after their haircut, and that's what keeps people coming back," said Kaitlyn Gregory, a hair stylist at Just4Him. "And the beer. People come back for the beer."
However, there is more to Just4Him than beer. Jesica McQueen, the receptionist for Just4Him said that customers love the laid-back attitude of the lounge.
"Most people like it because of the atmosphere," McQueen said. "It's a little more manly than going to a salon. Most of the time, guys come in here, and they know another guy. Plus, they don't have to wait for girls to get their hair blown dry, so it's faster."
The relaxed attitude of Just4Him draws customers for more than just haircuts. Other services offered are eyebrow waxes, shaves, color and highlighting.
"We have guys that come in to get a shampoo, a shave and a beer just because they're having a bad day," McQueen said.
McQueen said men feel more comfortable coming to Just4Him to get services like eyebrow waxing done because there aren't female customers around.
"I was surprised at how many guys come in for eyebrow waxing. I guess they are more likely to get it done here because not many girls will see them," McQueen said.
As the name suggests, Just4Him serves mostly male customers, but McQueen said men aren't the only ones who want to relax while they get a hair cut. They do have a few female customers occasionally.
Just4Him Men's Haircut Lounge has entirely female staff of cosmetologists who keep the customers coming back for quality of service.
"They do a phenomenal job," said Caleb Ryan, a self-proclaimed regular. "My hair is hard to cut, and they get it right every time. I always feel like a new man."
Customer Scott Palmer said he agrees that while the shampoo and head massage are nice, the haircut is the reason he comes back.
"I am extremely picky about my haircut and they do a fine job," Palmer said.
Just4Him does kids haircuts as well, and the kids enjoy the head massage after the cut just as much as the adults.
Jim Cook, a Just4Him regular customer for six months came in the get a trim with his son, Jackson.
"It's a good atmosphere," Cook said. "It's not a long wait and the shampoo and head massage are just awesome. It's a small touch, but it's the small things that matter."
Cook's son said he agreed that the head massage was excellent.
"The atmosphere is always friendly here," Cook said.
The prices at Just4Him are also something that keep customers coming back.
Men's haircuts are $18; military and kids cuts are $14; eyebrow waxes are $10; cleanups are $12; shaves are $18; color and highlights are $40; and women's cuts are $40.
"I love it all," Palmer said. "The haircut, the people, the cold beer. Cheers."
