Top Model comes to Auburn

America's Next Top Model is searching for the loveliest girl on the Plains.

The show will hold an open casting call for its 19th season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 10 at the Village Mall in the grand court in the Dillard's wing.

It is the first season of the show exclusive to college students.

Potential contestants must be 5-feet-7-inches or taller, between the ages of 18 and 27 and U.S. citizens, according to the show's website.

These hopefuls must also submit measurements, a close up, full body and bikini photos of themselves.

The show's physical requirements are not rigid, and case-by-case exceptions are made regarding height.

"Producers are looking for a variety of models, including plus size models," according to the website.

"It's really exciting," said Whitney Golden, marketing coordinator at Village Mall. "It brings a lot people into the mall, and they bring family and friends because they want support."

Auburn is the third and final stop for the show's casting calls in Alabama, with casting calls in Mobile and Montgomery March 9.

The city is a good location for attracting hopefuls, Golden said.

"Here, more people will travel from Montgomery, Georgia, Birmingham..." Golden said. "They've done it here before, and they had a good turnout. That's why they came back." The shows sponsors will also be found at the mall during the casting call.

This will not be the first time for the show to hold a casting call at the mall.

"It was at least hundreds," Golden said, referring to the number of contestants from the mall's last ANTM visit. "One year a girl actually went on from here. She made it a long way."

The show, which airs on the CW network, documents the lives of a group of women living in the same house and travelling together as they compete for various prizes, including modeling contracts and the title of America's Next Top Model.

Originally created and produced by Tyra Banks in 2003, the show premiered its 18th season Feb. 29.
