Frances Lee McLemore, junior in biomedical sciences from Hoover, Ala., died Monday after apparently passing out outside the Auburn Athletic Complex.
McLemore was taken to a local area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
McLemore was a student tutor at the Auburn Athletic Complex, and was a scholar as well as a teacher.
"From all accounts Ms. McLemore was highly intelligent and kind," said Katherine Hettinger, Coordinator for Student Advocacy and Case Management. "She had a 4.0 and a bright future ahead of her."
The cause of death is unknown, but authorities are conducting an autopsy.
