Syrup Sopping Festival continues sweet traditions

Since 1972, the tiny town of Loachapoka has gathered more than 15,000 people each fall for the Syrup Sopping Festival.
Folks from around the country travel for this one-day event for the finest-tasting cane syrup in the South.
The syrup is sopped manually through a sugar cane-splitting machine, while a horse circles around the machine for power.
