Man arrested for shooting a man on the 600 block of Shug Jordan Parkway

21-year-old Blake Alexander was arrested on first degree assault charges after police responded to "shots fired" at 2:11 a.m. Oct. 21 at the 600 block of Shug Jordan Parkway.
The Hub apartment complex is located at the 600 block of Shug Jordan Parkway.
"The victim, who is an acquaintance of Alexander, was shot after a verbal altercation between the two of them escalated," stated the Auburn Police Division press release. "Detectives obtained an arrest warrants on Alexander charging him with assault first degree and he was taken into custody while still at the scene."
The victim was transported to Columbus Mid-town Medical Center.
Alexander is at the Lee County Detention Facility.
His bond is $50,000.
Alexander is not a student at the University.
