The Auburn Police Division has arrested and charged a 57-year-old man with second-degree rape.
Richard R. Almond was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to a press release by the APD.
The rape was reported and filed to the APD after officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Glenn Avenue.
The victim is a 21-year-old female.
The victim is not a student at the University.
The APD investigation resulted in Almond being identified as a suspect and an acquaintance of the victim.
The APD obtained a felony warrant and arrested Almond. He was taken into custody at the Lee County Jail where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.
