Cross Country finishes third overall at the SEC Championships

The Auburn men's cross country team finished third at the SEC Championships on Friday at the Harry Pritchett Running Course.

The Tiger's scored 77 points that earned them their best finish since 2009.

Senior Ty McCormack finished runner-up with a time of 23:58.64 and earned All-SEC honors after finishing either first or second in all of his races this season.

Senior Kane Grimster also took home his second-consecutive All-SEC Team honors after finishing ninth with a time of 24:41.55.

Senior Niklas Buhner finished 17th clocking a season best time in the 8k at 24:58.74.

Coleman Churitch finished 40th and was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team with a time of 25:33:70.

The women's team finished ninth led by freshman Molly McKenna, who placed 33rd with a time of 21:00.72, and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

The Tigers will now shift their focus to the NCAA South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. On Nov. 14.
