No. 4 Auburn men’s golf finished second with a 12-under, 852 at the Gary Koch Invitational in Gastonia, North Carolina, on Tuesday, April 7.
Junior Michael Johnson also earned co-medalist honors with an 8-under, 208. It was his second win in the last four tournaments.
He shot up the leaderboards with a 3-under, 69 final round, including five birdies.
No. 1 Florida State won the tournament at 22-under, 281.
Freshman Ben Schlottman finished tied for fifth at 4-under, 212, his third top-5 finish of the season.
Senior Dan Stringfellow finished tied for 11th at 1-under, 215; sophomore Matt Gilchrest finished tied for 18th at 1-over, 217; sophomore Ryan Benton tied for 28th at 4-over, 220; freshman Matthew Perrine tied for 47th at 9-over, 225 and sophomore Will Long finished tied for 52nd at 10-over, 226.
Auburn’s next competition is at the SEC championship from April 17-19 at the Seaside Golf Course in Sea Island, Georgia.
