Myers named coach of the year, players receive SEC honors

Awards are starting to pour in for the Auburn softball team.

They're lighting up the trophy case after they did the same to the scoreboard all season long.
On Tuesday, May 5,  coach Clint Myers was named SEC Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to one of the program's best records in their history, and landing the program's highest ever seed in the SEC tournament at No. 2.
On top of that, infielders Emily Carosone and Kasey Cooper have been named to the All-SEC first team, while first baseman Jade Rhodes and outfielder Tiffany Howard received second team honors.

SEC tournament play will get going Thursday, May 7, for the Tigers as they take on the winner of the winner of Wednesday's game between Missouri and Mississippi State.
