An accident involving a 18-wheeler was reported to the Auburn Police Division at 5:43 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, on Interstate 85 northbound near mile marker 53.
According to APD Capt. Lorenza Dorsey, the truck, a blue 1996 Freightliner, was heading northbound when it left the roadway and flipped down an embankment.
The driver, a 55-year-old male from Tampa, Florida, was not injured, according to Dorsey.
The truck is from a transport company based in North Carolina and was carrying clothes.
Traffic on the interstate near the scene of the accident has been reduced to one lane, and traffic will be restored in both lanes later this afternoon, according to Dorsey.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by APD.
