Auburn man arrested and charged with firing a gun into occupied dwelling

An Auburn man was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Montavious A. Finley, 30, was arrested as a result of an investigation stemming from a report of shooting into an occupied dwelling Aug. 23, when officers responded to a report of shots fired at the 300 block of Boykin Street. The victim reported someone had fired several shots into their residence and fled. No one was injured, but the residence sustained damage.

Finley was taken into custody by Auburn Police Division officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force near the intersection of Vaughn and Taylor roads in Montgomery.  

Finley was transported to the Lee County Jail and is eligible for $50,000 bond.
