UPDATE: Man identified in weekend homicide investigation

Auburn Police are investigating the death of a man on the 200 block of Lee Road 2177 as a homicide.

The Auburn Police Division said in a press release it responded to a report of an unresponsive male in the road near an abandoned trailer park Saturday, Feb.27 at 2:20 p.m.

Police said they discovered an unresponsive African-American man in his 30's or 40's. 

The Lee County Coroner Bill Harris pronounce the man dead at 4:50 p.m.

Police said they have not yet identified the man.

The body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Montgomery to determine cause of death.

The case is under investigation.

Update: Police said the man found dead on Saturday is Christopher Noland Rogers, 54, from Headland, Alabama. 

Auburn detectives were able to identify Rogers through the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Identification Bureau Latent Prints Unit.
