City Council set to discuss Chevron redevelopment

At its biweekly meeting on Tuesday, April 19, the Auburn City Council will discuss the terms of a potential development agreement for the planned redevelopment of the University Chevron station, dubbed 191 College in planning commission documents.

191 College will sit on the southwestern corner of North College Street and West Glenn Avenue.

The discussion is planned for the Committee of the Whole portion of the meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Development Services Building Conference Room at 141 North Ross Street.

"The 191 College Street development was already progressing prior to the zoning ordinance changes made recently," said David Dorton, director of public affairs, in an email to the media.

The development will tower to 75 feet and will have retail on the ground floor.

Forrest Cotten, planning director, told The Plainsman in October that 191 College would have 127 units housing 465 beds. The building will also feature two levels of underground parking.

According to a press release by the office of the director of public affairs, the development agreement could appear on a Council meeting agenda for as early as May.
