Coffee and cocktails, now in the same location. The Overall Company is now bunkmates with John Emerald Distilling Company.
The wait for biscuits, classic drinks and a welcoming venue is almost over, thanks to Opelika's John Emerald Distillery and the four co-managers of The Overall Company.
The grand opening "get together" will be April 12, from 7–9 p.m., in the John Emerald tasting room in downtown Opelika.
The grand opening will include live music from Loom, a local music group, spirits from John Emerald and Overall goods.
Debbie Mossberg, co-manager of Overall Company, said two business working independently under the same roof is rare, but The Overall Company and John Emerald have the same goal in mind.
"We want people to know that we are open for business again, but that it's a new day," Mossberg said.
Both businesses said they want to provide great hospitality, quality products and an inviting environment.
According to Mossberg, The Overall Company is hoping to stay at the new location for six months to a year. The Overall team hopes that the smaller space will serve the business better than its previous location.
"We will be offering a limited menu of the best that The Overall Company has to offer," Mossberg said. "We all came to the decision that a simpler menu with an emphasis on quality would be the best way to serve our guests."
According to Mossberg, the company will now be serving a signature roasted coffee from Brazil. Alongside coffee, the company will be serving its tea, a new take-out lunch option, pops and fresh biscuits.
Jimmy Sharp, owner and distiller at John Emerald Distillery, is excited to bring in The Overall Company and looks forward to the grand opening.
"We are more-or-less roommates now," Sharp said. "(The Overall Company) needed the space, and we had it."
Sharp said The Overall Company was a part of his daily routine before it closed and looks forward to the company being under the same roof.
"I think (The Overall Company) is a great fit for the space," Sharp said. "We really like the people that run it, and we have the same philosophy."
