Man shot and killed Saturday

A man was shot and killed Saturday, July 2, 2016, in Auburn. 

Officers of the Auburn Police Division responded to a shooting call at a residence in Swann's Mobile Home Park on the 1600 block of Lee County Road 12.

Officers discovered David Green, a 46-year-old black male, who had suffered from a gunshot injury. EMS paramedics treated him and transported him to the East Alabama Medical Center.

An emergency room physician pronounced him dead at 6:02 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

According to a police press release, the Auburn Police Division has determined that the shooting occurred as a result of an altercation between Green and an acquaintance, Kennedy Harris.

Harris has been identified as a person of interest and also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest in another unrelated case.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding Harris.

He is described as a black male, 44 years old, 5'–10" and 140 pounds.

Green's body will be transported to the Department of Forensic Sciences State Medical Examiner's Office in Montgomery for a postmortem examination, according to police.

The Auburn Police Division, State Medical Examiner's Office and the Lee County Coroner are still investigating this case.
