An 18-year-old Auburn man, Eric Lamar Nelms Jr., was arrested by police Thursday, Aug. 4, on felony burglary and theft of property charges.
Nelms' arrest was the result of an Auburn Police Division investigation into a July 25 burglary and theft in the 1600 block of South College Street.
Police said someone entered a business illegally while it was closed and then stole property along with an undetermined amount of cash.
Nelms emerged as suspect after police reviewed video surveillance and identified him as the responsible person. Warrants were then obtained for his arrest.
He was arrested on one felony charge of third degree burglary and two charges of first degree theft of property. Nelms is being held in the Lee County Jail on a $13,000 bond.
