Suspect in custody after Lee County homicide

A woman who suffered multiple stab wounds was pronounced dead at the scene in Loachapoka, Alabama last night.

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies and EAMC EMS responded to a residence on Lee County Road 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3.

They discovered 47-year-old Mickie Chiffone Mack displaying no signs of life. It appeared she suffered multiple stab wounds, according to a release from Lee County Coroner Bill Harris. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:35 p.m.

Lee County Sheriff’s investigators are still trying to piece together what happened, the release states.

A suspect is in custody.

This case is being treated as a homicide and remains under investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, the Lee County Coroner and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
