Link said Miss Homecoming callouts are exciting because of the potential opportunities available to the nominees.
"I think Miss Homecoming is super fun because Miss Homecoming is a great opportunity for an Auburn woman to help bring our community and our student body together during homecoming in a fun way to get behind a passion and a platform for this University," Link said.
Link said the amount of nominations increased from last year.
"We had nominations out for about two weeks once school started and we had over 50 women be nominated which is really exciting," Link said. "That's an increase from the past, so we're super excited about that."
The process of narrowing down candidates happens within a short time period, Link said.
"Then we had interviews today for all of those women who were nominated," Link said. "Every person gets an interview and then tonight we selected the Top 20 and all 20 of them will interview tomorrow and we'll announce the Top 5 tomorrow night - those are the five that will campaign during the week."
