Three Trends for Fall 2017

With the changing weather comes the changing styles, and this fall many new trends are popping up that cannot be overlooked. From '70s inspired pieces to oversized sweaters and statement sneakers this fall has no shortage of great trends.

One of fall’s biggest trends is the resurgence of 1970s inspired clothing and color palettes. Bell bottoms, corduroy, bold prints, over the knee boots, and rich colors are all coming back in full swing. While initially I was hesitant to many of these pieces coming back (I had not worn flare pants since elementary school) bell bottoms and richly hued colors such as mustard have been some of my favorite staples this fall. The warm colors pair perfectly with the crisp weather, and a move to more loose fitting and flowy pieces provides comfort and style. Also borrowing from the ‘70s disco era, metallic and shimmering pieces have made a resurgence. Adding a piece with a stylish sheen takes any outfit to the next level and will make you feel totally groovy. Whether you want to be disco chic or laid back and bohemian, there is something for everyone with this trend.

This fall, cozy and comfortable pieces are huge. Chunky knits, graphic t-shirts, and super soft sweaters are both cute and stylish and emphasis everything we love most about fall. The movement towards oversized fits and silhouettes allows you to get away with being super comfy but still stylish. The graphic t-shirt has quickly become one of my favorite trends this season. They can be easily dressed up or down, and are perfect for transitioning from day to night. Pair your favorite tee with a chunky cardigan and you look effortlessly stylish. With sweaters being a fall mainstay, you can be sure this trend is here to stay.

While boots are great, having another option for a comfortable yet stylish fall shoe is necessary. Sneakers have become one of the biggest shoe trends thanks to the popularity of the athleisure look. Many well-known sneaker brands such as Nike and Adidas are branching out from the traditional running shoe, and coming up with styles centered on day to day wear. Swapping your favorite pair of boots for statement sneakers can instantly change the vibe of your entire look and you can be sure that you will be comfy throughout the entire day.
