Auburn student charged with weekend burglaries

Auburn police arrested and charged Patrick Andres Grace, 20, with two counts of felony second-degree burglary and one count of felony third-degree theft of property, as well as one count of misdemeanor fourth-degree theft of property on Saturday, Dec. 9, according to a release from the Auburn Police Division.

According to University records, Grace is a sophomore at Auburn.

Police responded to reports of burglaries on Saturday in the 200 block of Armstrong Street. Witnesses observed a person inside three different residences, confronted the suspect and contacted the police.

Approximately $392 worth of goods were reported stolen, including money, a credit card, gift cards and ID cards. Police said Grace, who lives near the victims, was found to be in possession of approximately $330 worth of property and money that was reported stolen.

Grace was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail where a bond was set for $11,500. Police said the case is ongoing and additional charges are anticipate
