Auburn is Alabama's most educated city, according to a recent report compiled using insurance applications.
Online car insurance shopping platform Insurify announced the rankings last month.
The company analyzed more than 1.4 million auto insurance applications, using data from those applications to determine what city is the most educated in each state.
Auburn was named the most educated in Alabama.
The city's high ranking comes as the U.S. Census Bureau recently announced that for the first time in history, one-third of American adults have at least a bachelor's degree and high school graduation rates rose to an all-time high.
"According to our data, these 50 communities—some established economic and cultural centers; some smaller, family-oriented towns—graduate at the top of their class," according to release from Insurify.
Individuals completing insurance applications were asked about their city of residence and their highest level of educational attainment. Analysts then scored each applicant based on their level of educational attainment.
The company also scored high school students on their likelihood to advance to college using their GPAs.
The scores were then used to determine an average score for each city in all age ranges and a composite score for each city. Top scoring cities were then selected for each state.
