The incident happened at a little before 1:50 p.m., when an eastbound CSX freight train struck a 20-year-old female pedestrian at the crossing.
She was quickly treated on the scene by Auburn Police and Fire Division units after they responded to the call.
She was conscious and alert when first responders transported her to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She has serious injuries, police said.
