Police tape surrounds a crime scene.

A 64-year-old man was hit and killed by a train in Opelika on Friday. 

The Opelika Police Department responded to the incident at the 1700 block of McCoy Street at 1:45 p.m., where OPD discovered the 64-year-old man who was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The case remains under investigation by OPD, and anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact the department at 334-705-5200 or the secret witness hotline at 334-745-866.
