Police tape surrounds a crime scene.

An Opelika man has been arrested after the Opelika Police Department found a woman dead on Maple Avenue on March 2.

Raphael Maurice Browning, 35, was arrested and charged with murder on Friday according to a release from OPD. 

A 40-year-old woman was found dead in the 500 block of Maple Avenue in Opelika when police responded at 10:30 p.m. on March 2. Her name was not released. 

OPD is continuing to investigate the case, and asks that anyone with information contact detectives at 334-705-5220 or the witness hotline at 334-745-8665.
